The recent AI MasterMind event held at HanaHaus was a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation.
Sponsored by SAP and HanaHaus, and organized by AI LA and Medical Innovation Exchange, this unique gathering brought together passionate communities invested in AI, technology, and healthcare innovation. Despite facing unforeseen challenges, the event was a resounding success, showcasing the resilience and dedication of everyone involved.
The evening commenced with a lively mix and mingle session, setting the stage for an evening of learning and networking. Attendees were treated to an insightful overview presentation on the state of Artificial Intelligence led by Prof. Dr. Tobias Schimmer and Anil Babu Ankisettipalli of SAP. They highlighted the importance of building responsible, reliable, and relevant AI and elaborated on SAP's strategy around infusing artificial intelligence capabilities into its enterprise business applications and processes. They also noted that generative AI is built into enterprise software and how the technology in turn helps to build and develop the software more efficiently.
The heart of the event lay in the MasterMind sessions, where participants engaged in thought-provoking discussions and brainstorming activities. Divided into two rounds, these sessions provided a platform for attendees to explore innovative ideas and solutions in AI and healthcare. The event also featured flash mentoring, rapid pitching, and a brag box session, fostering collaboration and camaraderie among participants.
Min-Yi Shih, a distinguished technologist and business executive, continued the event, bringing his extensive experience in technology and business to the forefront. With a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and an EMBA from UCLA Anderson, Dr. Shih has excelled as CTO and COO in various industries. As the event moderator, he guided discussions, provided expert insights into AI's applications in healthcare, and engaged with participants during the flash mentoring and rapid pitching sessions. His leadership and knowledge were instrumental in fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation.
While the event was a tremendous success with almost 70 participants, the organizers overcame several challenges, including an emergent situation at HanaHaus that forced the organizers to relocate the event.
With less than a week before the event, everyone was focused on finding an alternate venue, which was no easy feat. However thanks to the hard work from the event organizers, as well as Julia Schlier, Head of HanaHaus Newport Beach, an alternate venue was found nearby, and the event was a tremendous success!
