Kristine Leetberg is our loving, caring, and passionate Software Development Intern at HanaHaus. She joined us around 1 year ago in hopes of expanding her professional skillset and gaining valuable experience in the software industry. She has gone above and beyond to bring our HanaHaus community the best experience.
Throughout her internship, Kristine accomplished many impressive feats. Most notably, she made significant improvements to our digital resources, created a highly utilized analytics dashboard, transformed our old colors into eye-capturing visuals, and added milestones to our new reservation system. If you have been to Newport Beach, you may have caught her enjoying her favorite cup of joe from Blue Bottle Coffee.
When Kristine is not working at HanaHaus, she is out exploring the world. During her time in the US, she got the opportunity to experience the beautiful cities of Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York. In addition, she immersed herself into the natural beauty of Sequoia National Park and Mt. Baldy. And of course, she visited Disneyland because it’s her all-time favorite place in the world! Let’s hear some words from Kristine herself.
Tell us a little bit about yourself! What is your career and how did you get started?
“At HanaHaus, I made sure the reservation system was up and running at all times. As a software developer, my goal is to create applications which are intuitive, so that people could use them with ease. Nowadays, software is so much more than just math and cryptic code, and I am passionate about sharing my love for the art with others.”
How was your experience here at HanaHaus? What did you love most/favorite memory?
“I had an unforgettable time at HanaHaus, the team is wonderful, and the spaces are a perfect environment to work, especially for a developer like me. I just love the motivation you get when sitting among so many innovative minds.”
What was your favorite spot to be in at HanaHaus?
“If not in line at Blue Bottle (could not get enough of the coffee!), I was sitting at the brown leather couch in Newport Beach. This was right in the centre of the action and filled with light. Coding in a breeze on this comfy couch. ”
During your time here in the US, what was your favorite location?
“After a productive day at HanaHaus, my favorite place to go was the beach. Even the scary birds there were not enough to take away my admiration for the ocean in Newport Beach. Another location which turned out to be one of my favorite locations was Disneyland! Not just for kids, I would recommend Disneyland to anyone who is looking for a happy escape from all the troubles of the work week.“
Are you going to miss HanaHaus? What are your plans for your future?
“I already miss HanaHaus so much! I will be sure to keep the team and SAP in my mind when continuing to pursue my career in software engineering. In the meanwhile, I must try to master the art of making Blue Bottle coffee at home. I am sure we will all meet again sometime!”
In our blog series, People of HanaHaus, we present the folks that fill our workspace cafe with life: Start-Uppers, entrepreneurs, artists, founders, innovation managers, students, unicorns, venture capital investors and the people who make HanaHaus unique. We want to learn about their journeys. We ask them to speak about their current projects and how they leverage HanaHaus for their business.
