Join us for our very first virtual rendition of Café Scientifique, featuring UC Santa Cruz Biomolecular Engineer, Dr. Camilla Forsberg!
Please register on Eventbrite.
During her virtual presentation, Dr. Forsberg will provide insights into the current status on stem cell-based therapies to treat human disease as well as explore questions such as:
What types of stem cells are approved for use in the clinic?
What stem cells are under investigation in clinical trials?
Which disorders do we know how to treat?
She will discuss the fundamental principles of stem cell therapies and point to resources that can offer even more information. She will give examples from her own lab's research on blood stem cells on how basic biology informs progress to treat human disorders. There will be also be opportunities for questions from the audience via a virtual chat.

Café Scientifique is a place where anyone can come to explore the latest ideas in science and technology. The Café provides a forum for debating science issues outside a traditional academic context. We are committed to promoting public engagement with science and to making science accountable - all spoken in plain English. There is no admission charge to attend our events.
Building on its great success outside the United States, Café Scientifique Silicon Valley is the first such Café on the West Coast. We meet monthly to discuss a variety of science topics.
